To gather your valuable insights:
● Initial Survey: You'll receive an invitation packed with a survey asking about your experiences, symptoms & side effects, and overall well-being. You can complete the survey online or on paper.
● Follow-up Surveys: You’ll receive 3 shorter follow-up surveys throughout the year (about 4-months, 8-months, and 12-months after the invitation packet). These surveys will ask about your experiences over time.
● Survey Duration: Each survey takes about 20-30 minutes to complete.
● Medical Records Release: Some participants may be asked to complete a Medical Records Release Form. If you are selected for this portion of the study, we would like your permission to access your medical records related to your colorectal cancer care. This will help us understand the treatment you received.
Important Note: If you require assistance in completing the survey, you may ask a family member or friend to assist you in marking your responses. However, please ensure that the answers reflect your own thoughts and feelings.
To thank you for your time and effort in participating in THRIVE, we will send you:
● Initial Survey: A $40 gift card after you complete the baseline survey.
● Follow-up Surveys: A $15 gift card after you complete each follow-up survey at 4, 8, and 12 months.
● Medical Records Release: A $15 gift card after you send back the signed Medical Records Release Form, if you are selected for this optional part of the study.

BioTHRIVE-NJ: Biopsychosocial Study to Track Health and Responses to Living with Cancer in New Jersey
If you live in New Jersey, you may be invited to participate in a related study called "Bio-THRIVE-NJ." The purpose of this study is to learn about the physical health and well-being of people with advanced colorectal cancer. This research opportunity is open to THRIVE participants who live in Bergen, Essex, Hudson, Morris, Passaic, or Union counties in New Jersey.
If you choose to participate, you will be asked to complete a study visit that includes surveys, physical measures of your health (such as blood pressure, balance, walking, grip strength and memory), and a blood draw. The study visit will take place at the research center in Nutley, NJ. You can be reimbursed for travel costs or mileage to and from the research center, or an alternative community-based location may be available if needed. In appreciation of your time, you will also receive a $100 gift card.
This study will help researchers to learn about the health challenges some people with mCRC face, and to also learn about people who are living well with mCRC. The important information will help us to identify new ways to support the well-being of people living with mCRC. If you live in northern New Jersey, we hope you will consider participating.
